In Memoria
Robert "Bob" Courtney, Class of '68 passed away on November 22nd after a long illness. Bob and his sister Pat (Class of '65) grew up on Rim Lane but he made lifetime friendships with buddies on the other side of town in the Colony Street area of Hicksville . As one of the first of the gang to pass his road test, we often packed into his '67 Comet (proudly equipped with a 4 track tape player ) and cruised over to see The Other Culture play at dances at the Elks Club on East Barclay Street, Dante's Pizza on Woodbury Road or Tobay Beach. Bob's quiet disposition and ever present smile were a welcome sight among the patients he served for more than 30 years as a health care technician, starting as a Physical Therapy Aide at Nassau County Medical Center shortly after graduation, and continuing as an RN for Long Island hospitals including the VA Hospital in Northport. Bob's love of physical fitness and team sports, including softball, tennis, and skiing, was surpassed only by his loyal and selfless friendship and above all, his devotion to his wife Annie, and children, Danielle, Peter and Marian.
God Bless You Bob!
