HICKSVILLE VIETNAM WAR ERA MEMORIAL - PROJECT UPDATE
Donations in April even surpassed March's surge with $1,690 in new receipts, bringing the current donation total to $13,572 toward our needed goal of $25,000 to build and maintain the Memorial!
Fifteen new donors in March brings our total list of donors to 133 individuals, couples and organizations. If each HixNews reader can contribute as little as $10, we will achieve our goal. Please remember, all donations are tax deductibile.
We owe a special thank you to the Hicksville High School Alumni Foundation's John Maniec and his committee for allowing us to participate with a front door donation table at their gala April 15th Fundraiser and in addition to that, providing a portion of their own fundraising proceeds from that event to us.
The March arrival of the Memorial's Center Plaque, now framed, mounted on a stand and residing at the Hicksville VFW Post, also enables our treasurer, Bill Walden, to have it on display at additional donation sites, as was done for the HHS Alumni Foundation event. Please see Bill's article, complete with pictures, covering the Center Plaque's arrival at his home, moving it to the VFW and participating in the HHS Alumni Foundation fundraiser in this issue's Newslettersection
An alphabetical list of donors through April, along with details you will need to mail in your donation, can be viewed in this month's MEMORIAL UPDATE in the Honoring Our Veterans section of the newsletter. 133 donors represents roughly 7% of the HixNews subscriber list. We are very appreciative of those donors, but obviously the $25,000 goal will easily be achieved if many of you who have yet to contribute, do so as soon as possible.
