People Looking for People
We've taken a new approach to this section. It's been re-organized by Henry Lichtenstein as an online spreadsheet. Rather than publish the list here, it's now available below. If you have found the person you are looking for, please let the editors know so the name can be removed from the list. If there's someone you're looking for, just send your request and we'll be happy to add it to the list. If anyone knows these folks, send an email to:

Hicksville Vietnam War Era Memorial Project Update
Thanks to the continued efforts of the HixNews readership, 5 more names were added in July, a usually slow vacation month, for a new total of 542. Please see the Veteran's Section of this issue for the latest information on the project and what you can continue to do to help it succeed.
Thank you,

A late update on Eileen O'Halloran Holmes from her husband, Paul...
Eileen was in the hospital and finally came home on Tuesday, July 27th. Her hospital stay was for 18 days .She had pneumonia and then the Intravenous antibiotics killed the natural flora in her intestines and she ended up with VRE and had diarrhea for 5 days. This dilemma made her so weak that she had much difficulty walking from one chair to another. She is scheduled to have a physical therapist come to the house. That process has not started yet. Her appetite is good and she is trying desperately to regain the 5 pounds she lost while in the hospital. Additionally, Eileen has missed three chemo treatments due to her illness. Hopefully, next week (if she gets some strength back) they will begin the chemo again.
We just have to take it day by day!!!
Paul Holmes
