Also enclosed is a picture of me, in official capacity as Commander of the Hicksville VFW presenting Mike Cullen (class of '65 also), with his 40th year membership pin. We have been friends since Jr. High School. Both Mike and I enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam.

Monday, August 11th...a little after noon.
I was taking my daughter, Dawn, to LaGuardia for a flight back to Augusta. As we were driving West on Northern State, the weather got really nasty looking...big dark clouds, then a tremendous downpour. Just before, Dawn was looking toward Great Neck and swore she saw a funnel cloud and snapped a picture, but we were too far away to see the result. Within a half hour, that same front was pounding the North Shore nearby to Hicksville, and sure enough, the tornado formed.
