Fifty Year Reunion for the Class of 1963
Elliot Gorlin has established a tentative date for the class of 1963 Fifty Year Reunion. It is the weekend of 11, 12, 13 in October 2013. He is looking at having the reunion at the Holiday Inn in Plainview. Elliot lives in Las Vegas and is looking for someone who lives on the island to become part of a reunion committee that is yet to be established. Anyone interested in assisting in this endeavor, please contact Elliot at

Hicksville Vietnam War Era Memorial - PROJECT UPDATE
Two names were added in October, bringing the current List of Names to a new total of 1,799. Gains continue to be made in completing information still missing for many of the people on our List thanks to the continued interest shown in the Memorial by the readers of HixNews! Please keep up your efforts to review the List of Names available via the website link located at the bottom of the full Project Update in the Honoring Our Veterans section of this newsletter.
Most of our data work continues to center on filling in missing data for the names we already have. As a HixNews reader, you can continue to be of significant help with the data we are missing, by reviewing the List of Names as noted above. All missing data continues to be noted in red on the List of Names to make it easier for our readers to pick up.
While many of us have donated to the various relief funds for Hurricane Sandy, we hope none of you or your family members were significantly affected by its destruction. We also want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season. We will take a break for the Holidays and will not publish in the January 1 issue of HixNews, but intend to come back strong for the February 1 issue.
