Memory Lane

Way back in the days before air conditioning, I worked at the Neisner's store in Plainview. That's when the Davey Crockett hats were all the rage. As a checker, I had to wear one in the heat of summer. For you youngsters, they were made of raccoon fur.

After the '67 reunion, my brother, Frank Koziuk, took a trip upstate NY and found this Newberry still in operation in Kingston, NY. This brought back my memory of the Davey Crockett hat. What can you still get for a quarter, let alone 5 or 10 cents?

Pat (Koziuk) Driscoll, '56
