    Dear Readers,
We hope you enjoy our latest HixNews issue. Thankfully, we do not have any In Memoriams to report this month, nor have we received any emails,  so there is no Etcetera section. In case you try to access the Hicksville Public Library yearbooks site from our page, it is not working as of now. The library is aware. We plan to focus on memories of holidays in Hicksville next month and would love to hear from you! Article contributions, suggestions, and news are always welcome. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

I was born in Hicksville, went to East Street School , then onto the Junior High and finally to the High School.  I graduated with the class of 1957, the second class to graduate from the new building on Division Ave. The brand new high school opened in September of 1955.

After graduation, I was accepted at Hofstra and received my Bachelor of Science degree in economics and business. I continued my education attending the University of Maryland where I earned a PH. D. in economics in 1968.

I married Ann Marie Wysocki who hails from Plains, Pennsylvania . We spent two years in Ghana in West Africa , where I worked for USAID. After Ghana I joined the World Bank and worked 33 years for them in Washington , D.C.

I retired in 2006 but still work as a consultant for the World Bank, and teach part time at George Washington University .  I live with my wife in Falls Church Va. We have four adult children, and seven grandchildren.
