After graduation in 1961 I worked for a sales representative and HIP of Greater NY.

In 1963, I married Al Dethlefsen, who was in the Navy at the time. He was stationed in RI and we lived there for several years.

When he was sent to Vietnam, I moved back to Hicksville and when he left the Navy we moved to Medford, where I still live.

We divorced in 1975. We had three children, who are all married and I have three grandchildren.

I attended Suffolk County Community College part-time for many years and have Associate Degrees in Business Administration and Paralegal Studies. I began working for the Suffolk County Dept. of Social Services in 1974 and retired after 33 years in April 2007 as a Senior Assets Analyst.

My interests are family history research, organizing and copying old family photos, reading, film, art and music.

I did not remarry, but have been living happily with my male partner for more than 20 years.
