I've been curious for many years about the whereabouts of Richie McKenna. I heard that he became a high school coach in the mid west. That is all I know. If anyone knows what happened to him let me know.

I just finished writing and illustrating a children's book called "Opa's Treasure Chest" that will be advertised on Amazon.com in about two weeks. My publisher is BookSurge Publishing. Here is my web page. www.didley-squat.com

Marilyn Zeiher Reinhardt attended both the 20th and 25th Reunions for the class of 1958. Marilyn was involved with the reunion committee on both occasions and she somehow forgot to retrieve her yearbook circulating amongst members of the committee. Marilyn is not sure if it was the 20th or 25th reunion when the yearbook disappeared. If anyone inadvertently wound up with her yearbook, please mail it to:

I came across this site while looking for information regarding any upcoming reunions. I have enjoyed reading this publication tremendously. It brings back great memories of Hicksville. I really never participated in any school activities; I guess you could say "I just did my time." My loss, I'm sure. My name is Bill Claudy from the class of 1973. My grammar school was Dutch Lane; oddly enough it was not on Dutch Lane. My birthday is 9/28. I live up near Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame) New York.

I've read about the induction of Joe Ryan. Mr. Ryan used to pick me up hitching to school in the mornings in his Benz. He also worked as a cop at Jones Beach and had me dump out many a cold beer on the beach. Above all he was a teacher deserving of this induction. Best Wishes Joe.
Thanks again for the newsletter.....Bill Claudy

Hi!
June (Fyfe) Gatten,'64 just sent me your newsletter. I had no idea that there was one. I would love to receive it in my e-mail.
My name is Gail (Di Leo) Cuoco, class of '64. I lived at 1 East Street in Hicksville while growing up. My birthday is March 31st. I am widowed; late husband Giovanni died in 2000. I have one son Tony and a daughter-in-law Allie. I taught HS English for 34 years before retiring. I live in North Babylon, NY, and am in touch with Tom Larkin '64, who lives in California, Kathy (Jacobs) Curtin '64, who lives in South Carolina, and June (Fyfe) Gatten, who lives in Florida. I would love to hear more from and about my former classmates.
It is a wonderful thing that you are doing. I hope to receive the next newsletter. Thanks. Gail (Di Leo) Cuoco

The article on Nunley's brought back memories. In January of 1952 while home on leave from the Navy , I met the girl who was to become my wife. She was a Senior at Baldwin High School. We were married June 28th 1953. We lived a few blocks from Nunley's. Our son and daughter had a great time at Nunley's. I don't know if they still do it, but the kids would try
and grab a ring as they went around. If they got a brass one, they were really excited, that meant they could stay on for a free ride.

FOND MEMORIES!

WAS THAT OVER 50 YEARS AGO?

Art Lembke, '49

Many thanks for your efforts in producing the newsletter and the inevitable stroll down memory lane. I read your letter with interest but with little hope of reading news from old friends because I am of the age of the dinosaur (1937 grad). But your August issue furnished a ray of hope when I saw the name Sam Levitt in your Memory Lane section. I knew the Levitt family including Ben, the father. My parents used his harness shop to fill their leather needs. Unfortunately the article contained no internet link, so I have no way of contacting him directly. Perhaps one of your staff could call him and let him know I responded to his article. In my search for a link I also came across another name I recognize, one of your committee members, that of Erik Boos. I don't know Erik but the Boos name is very familiar since I used to work on a farm operated by a member of the Boos family.

A few months back I corresponded with Bob Casale which resulted in my mailing to him, the class photo of my wife's (Sophie Teresko) 1938 graduating class. I would appreciate knowing if it was received. In our telephone conversation Bob learned that I was a career soldier and suggested I submit an article including WWII experiences. I have never followed up because I
believe there are too few readers (perhaps none), from that period to generate interest. Any advice????
Fred Fluckiger

[ED. NOTE: We did receive a photo of 1937 graduating class, which we published a few months ago. The photo of the 1938 Senior Class Trip was received by Bob Casale but is too large to scan without cutting into smaller sections.]

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Cathy Rowan, I graduated in 1975 and I hope that someone can help me. I have lost my year book and was wondering if there is anywhere, where I can get a copy of this, and I have also lost my high school diploma and would love to get a copy of this. Please let me know if you can help me.

Sincerely,  Cathy Rowan

Hello,
I graduated in 1958, I now live in Ocala, Florida with my wife Moryha. I was relocated with Grumman to Charleston, So. Carolina for 12 years then retired to the community of Oak Run in Florida. My wife and I got involved with the Way Off Broadway group, they put on plays in our community, I'm not actor, I help to build scenery. After comparing notes with other members of the group, I was surprised to find another woman who graduated from Hicksville High School. Sandy Wolf gave me the website, it was a treat to see both my brother Bob and Guy's pictures. Guy was a member of the Continentals, he is second from the left. We have passed along the information to both Guy and Bob. I also had another brother Roy, he passed away last year from complications of a stroke. My mother still lives in the house where I grew up. I really enjoyed looking at all the information. Thanks for a great job. Harold Kasten

I am Ellen "Sandy" Wolfe. I was Sandy Sandler, also known as Sandy Berkowitz.

Jerry and I are both retired from the N.Y. C. Board of Education.
I would love to hear from anyone who might remember me.
Thank you,
