Attending and graduating from Michigan State University was a wonderful experience.  I enjoyed Campus activities, student personnel work and Sorority life and was honored to receive the top 2% Circle Honorary Women's Leadership Award, and to be involved in the President and Roundtable Executive Councils.  I have been actively involved in academia throughout my career, having received both Undergraduate and Graduate Assistantships at MSU, and a Graduate Fellowship for an MS degree in Counselor Education at Hofstra University , LI.  As a member of the Dean of Students Staff at Hofstra, we were instrumental in the development of the Hofstra Residential Program.   As an Assistant Dean of Students at SUNY Stony Brook, I assisted in the development of the Residential Program at SUNY Stony Brook. Subsequently recruited to The Three Village Central School District, I worked for 30+ years as a High School Counselor at Ward Melville HS, working with Rotary and Kiwanis and local community organizations, promoting counseling, scholarship and academic awards. I received my Professional Diploma in Counselor Education (MS + 60 credits) and am a member of the American Counselor Association and a National Board Certified Counselor, with NY State Permanent Teaching and Counseling Certification.  Have been involved in both national and local level elections, and have volunteered with the Associated Press for Presidential elections. While engaged, I took a leave of absence from work to live and work in Chicago - Water Tower - near Northwestern University .  I have continually tried to maintain a balanced life, and live between both LI and NYC.  Family is extremely important to me, and I am proud that my sister, Pam, has received her Ph.D. degree in Nursing Research and Theory Development from New York University, while working full time running the open heart-lung bypass machine at New York University Langone Hospital; and, then working at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD;   and, now is presently an Assistant Professor in NY.  I enjoy travelling, having spent many summers backpacking throughout Europe with family and friends. Love spending summers in Switzerland , hiking and backpacking, while visiting family and attempting to speak German, French, and Spanish.  One summer, I lived abroad in Sligo , Ireland , studying Yeats.  Have been a 25 year timeshare owner in Aruba, travelling 3 - 4 times a year, enjoying the Caribbean 's white sand and swimming. Volunteered with Texas Equus Search for Natalie Holloway.  Worked the US Golf Opens at Shinnecock Hills and Bethpage Black with Corporate Hospitality and Clubhouse, as well as the Bob Hope Classic in Palm Springs , CA .  Enjoy all athletic activities - Tai' Chi, Tae Kwon Do, cross country skiing, hiking and backpacking, gardening, nature, and the beach.  Am an avid supporter of all major fund raisers.  Enjoy NYC, the East End , Yankees and Giants, dating, and spending time with family, friends, and pets.  Again, I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you all at our upcoming September 2011 Reunion .
