Hicksville Vietnam War Era Memorial UPDATE -
1/1/22 Except
for one new donation, there was no
new activity during December. Following
is a copy of last month's report, with the Fund Raising Section and
Donor's List updated with the past month's donation at the end of
this report: Fund
Raising: The List of Current Donors has increased by 1 to 222.
Total receipts are now $41,403.
Expenses to complete the Memorial have totaled $35,592, leaving
us a balance of $5,811 for future needs.
Additional donations will be used to cover Dedication Ceremony
expenses and future Memorial maintenance. All donors (individuals, couples and
groups) are listed alphabetically at the end of this update. If you have yet to donate, or
wish to make an additional donation, your generosity will be very much
appreciated! You can still
become part of the Memorial by sparing as little as $10 for this worthy
cause to recognize your fellow alumni who served our Great Country! Remember, all donations are
tax deductible. Just follow
the simple instructions below: Donation checks should be made out to: And should be mailed to: Hicksville Vietnam Era Memorial Project Memorial construction was completed
in November, 2019.
The Dedication Ceremony was delayed at that
time for winter weather considerations and then the Pandemic. In
the meantime, alumni and other readers can
drop by to see the Memorial at the Jerusalem Avenue Middle
School's Memorial Gardens.
An announcement of the date and time of the Dedication Ceremony
will be made after we have a legal "all clear" on the Pandemic from
the Hicksville Public School District and hopefully at least a month in
advance of the ceremony to enable those who wish to attend to make their
plans to be there. The
announcement will be posted in HixNews, as well as on the Hicksville
Facebook pages. At this time, we continue to wait for
Hicksville's Board of Education and Superintendant Litzman to provide
us with possible dedication dates, the
need for insurance and/or a permit for the Dedication Ceremony.
Bill Walden continues to follow up on this for us.
FINAL Confirmed List of Names: Please
click on the following link to review the Confirmed
List of Names, organized alphabetically by graduating class year and
shown as they appear on the
Memorial: Please note that the list of those
killed in action does not appear on the Confirmed List,
because the names of those who paid the ultimate price during the
Vietnam War, are honored with a separate plaque that contains additional
details and is placed on the Memorial's Center Stone, just below the
Memorial's Dedication Plaque. Alphabetical List of Current Donors A heart felt Thank You to all of our
