Fund Raising:
While we are aware of two new donations in March, we haven't been able
to update donations since February with Bill Walden remaining out of
state, likely until June. Hence,
our next Fund Raising update will likely not occur until the July 1
issue of HixNews. Before the
March donations, total receipts were $39,333 and with the Memorial
complete, we still have roughly $3,700 remaining for future needs.
This does not leave much for dedication ceremony expenses and
future maintenance. So, if you have yet to donate,
or wish to make an additional donation, now would be a great time! You
can still become part of the Memorial if you can spare as little as $10
for this worthy cause to recognize your fellow alumni who served our
Great Country. We will very much appreciate any amount you can spare. Remember, all donations are
tax deductible. Just follow
the simple instructions below. Your
generosity will be very much appreciated. Donation checks should be made out to: Hicksville And should be mailed to: Hicksville As of the end of February, the total
number of donors was 211. All
donors (individuals, couples and groups) are listed alphabetically at
the end of this update. Memorial construction is now complete.
Construction was actually completed in
mid-November, 2019 but the final Dedication Ceremony was delayed for
winter weather considerations. In
the meantime, alumni and other readers can
drop by to see the Memorial.
An announcement of the date and time of the Dedication Ceremony
will be made after we have a legal "all clear" on the Coronavirus
Pandemic and at least a month in advance of the ceremony.
The announcement will be posted in HixNews, as well as on the As Hicksville's Board of
Education has had to turn their attention to managing the school
district during the current Pandemic, we have understandably yet to hear
from Superintendant Lintz regarding possible dedication dates and the
need for insurance, or a permit for the dedication ceremony.
