Fund Raising:
With Bill Walden out of town, we cannot report any new donation activity
for October. Any donations
mailed to him during the past month will be reported next month in the
12/1/19 Update. For now, total donations, as reported last month stand
at $39,133. The total number of donors remains at
209. All donors
(individuals, couples and groups) are listed alphabetically at the end
of this update. Please know if you have yet to
donate you can still become part of the Memorial if you can spare as
little as $10 for this worthy cause to recognize your fellow alumni who
served our Great Country. We will very much appreciate any amount you
can spare. Remember, all donations are
tax deductible. Just follow
the simple instructions below. Your
generosity will be very much appreciated. Donation checks should be made out to And should be mailed to: Hicksville Memorial construction completion is
still pending.
As noted previously, the Center Stone is already in place at the
Jerusalem Avenue Middle School Memorial Gardens.
We have now received all the nameplate plaques and the two
remaining stones for the Memorial. Placement
of these should take place on each side of the Center Stone in November,
weather permitting. This
will complete Memorial Construction!! While construction should
be completed in November and people can drop by to see the Memorial
after that is announced, we have decided to delay the Memorial's
Dedication Ceremony until next spring, when the weather will be better
for an outdoor event. An
announcement of the date and time of the Dedication Ceremony will be
made at least a month in advance in HixNews and will also be posted on
the "You Know You're From FINAL Confirmed List of Names: Please
click on the following link to review the Confirmed
List of Names, organized alphabetically by graduating class year and
shown as they will appear on the Memorial: Click
here Please note that the list of those
killed in action does not appear on the Confirmed List,
because the names of those who paid the ultimate price during the
Vietnam War, are honored with a separate plaque that contains additional
details and is placed on the Memorial's Center Stone, just below the
Memorial's Dedication Plaque. Alphabetical List of Current Donors A heart felt Thank You to all of our
