Hicksville Vietnam War Era Memorial UPDATE - 7/1/19

Fund Raising: Two new donors in June added $1,000 to our total!!  Total donations are now $37,533.

The total number of donors is now 206.  All donors (individuals, couples and groups) are listed alphabetically at the end of this update.

Please know if you have yet to donate, you can still become part of the Memorial if you can spare as little as $10 for this worthy cause to recognize your fellow alumni who served our Great Country. We will very much appreciate any amount you can spare.

Remember, all donations are tax deductible.  Just follow the simple instructions below.  Your generosity will be very much appreciated.

Donation checks should be made out to:

Hicksville Vietnam Era Memorial Project

And should be mailed to:

Total Donations now well surpass our original $25,000 goal and expectations!  We owe this result to all our donors who have helped achieve it over the past 4+ years!!

Memorial Construction continues to roll along, under John Tranchina, HHS 1964!!  To our surprise and especially the surprise of the stone mason company we are working with, the Center Stone has already been delivered, contrary to their original mid-July promise date.  In June, our nameplate manufacturer created proofs of all the names, branches of service and high school graduating class years and we are now in the process of reviewing them for final approval.  In addition, the two remaining stones for the Memorial have been ordered and all nameplates, except for those who were killed in action, will be mounted on these two stones after they are delivered and we have approved the engraving company's proofs.    These two stones will be located to the left and right of the Center Stone.  As you already know, the Memorial's footers upon which all three stones will be mounted were poured in May and a special plaque listing all who were killed in action will be mounted on the Center Stone, under the Memorial's dedication plaque.

An announcement will be made on a date for the Memorial Dedication Ceremonies after the Center Stone is placed on the Memorial's footers.  We expect the Center Stone to be placed in early July.

The List of Names is now FINAL and the plates with the 1,900+ names engraved on them will cost us about $16,000.
