Fund Raising:
November was a tremendous month and our biggest single month ever, with
6 new donors, plus 3 repeat donors, bringing in an additional $9,391!
We have finally surpassed our $25,000 goal!
Current total donations are now $28,788, with a total of $27,913
left in our bank account after last year's IRS filing expense.
The total number of donors has now risen
to 188. All donors
(individuals, couples and groups) are listed alphabetically at the end
of this update. While we have surpassed our
funding goal, please know if you have yet to donate, you can still
become part of the Memorial as any additional funds will be used for
donations to Veteran's Charities and possibly scholarships for worthy
HHS students going on to college. So,
if you have not donated and can spare as little as $10 for this worthy
cause to recognize your fellow alumni who served our Great Country, we
will very much appreciate any amount you can spare. Remember, all donations are
tax deductible. Just follow
the simple instructions below. Your
generosity will be very much appreciated. Donation checks should be made out to: Hicksville And should be mailed to: Hicksville We began accepting donations in October, 2014, upon achieving tax-exempt status from the IRS. $3,400 was raised in the remaining 3 months of 2014, $6,200 in 2015 and $8,300 in 2016. We needed to raise an additional $7,100 this year to achieve our $25,000 goal. Now, through the first 11 months of 2017, we have raised $10,866!! Recent Accomplishments: ·
The Hicksville Fire
Department held their yearly golf outing in September and will make a
donation from their proceeds to the Memorial Fund in December.

Bank requirements still
need to be met to place a website link in HixNews to make credit card
donations possible and easy to accomplish. ·
Overall Memorial design
sketches have been made and must be finalized.
Work remains in progress to determine the granite and stone
supplier we will use for the Memorial's construction.
Our committee has also gained a commitment for advisory
assistance from the person who constructed the Veteran's Memorial at The
Confirmed List of Names remains at 1,911.
Some additional progress was made
this month on the missing data for some names.

leave anyone behind from earlier class years (the 1940's and 50's)
who served during the Vietnam War Era and deserve recognition.
