Fund Raising:
With no donations received since April 4th, total
donations remain at $18,732, with a total of $17,857 in our bank account
after last year's IRS filing deduction.
The total number of donors remains at
177, still a very small percentage of the nearly 2,000 readers of HixNews. Donations remain below 10% of
HixNews readership, so if many of you who have yet to donate will spare
as little as $10 for this worthy cause, we can achieve our needed goal
very soon. Remember, all donations are
tax deductible. Just follow
the simple instructions below. Your
generosity will be very much appreciated. Donation checks should be made out to: Hicksville And should be mailed to: Hicksville An alphabetical list of current
donors appears at the end of this monthly update. We began accepting
donations in October, 2014, upon achieving tax-exempt status from the
IRS. $3,400 was raised in
the remaining 3 months of 2014, $6,200 in 2015 and $8,300 in 2016. If we
can raise an additional $7,100 this year we will achieve our final goal.
So far, however during the first 5 months of 2017, we have only raised
$810, way behind the rate needed to complete the Project. Recent Accomplishments: ·

The Hicksville Fire
Department will hold their yearly golf outing in September and is
interested in donating part of their proceeds to the Memorial Fund.
Bill will meet with one of the fire department chiefs in early
June on this ·
Bill is in discussion with
Bank of America that should enable credit card donations to be made to
the Memorial Fund ·
Terry Wallace, who is
chairing the Memorial Construction Committee, has now visited the The
Confirmed List of Names remains at 1,911.
No additional progress was made on the missing data for many
names. We
continue to need help from all our readers here!! As

you may be familiar with, as a reference and see if you have a new name
or some missing data on existing names to email to us.

Unconfirmed List was created to specifically insure we don't leave
anyone behind from earlier class years (the 1940's and 50's) who
served during the Vietnam War Era and deserve recognition.
