You Know You're
From I
remember Willie, the Chef at Milleridge Inn, yelling at me for not getting back
fast enough from the Bakery with the Cinnamon Bread mini-loafs (because I
stopped to eat one on the way). Also making the French fries at Wetson's and life guarding
at Where did you work
to earn a couple of extra scheckles ($$$) to supplement your allowance, if you
got one? Crown
Bakery...a couple of afternoons a week, Saturday night, and Sunday morning until
12:30 (so I could leave and go to the 12:45 mass at Holy Family) Millerirdge
Inn Bakery and Confectionary. Best job ever. I
remember listening to my eight track tapes in the parking lot at the Milleridge
Inn before I had to go into work, then going in the back by the kitchen. Botto
Brothers Hardware on Broadway and Courtesy Drugs in Mid ******************************************************************************** Our
first grandchild, Blake is graduating high school tonight...can't believe it!

I
remember standing on line for A Hard Days Night with other screaming Beatles
fans. Me
too -- and we rushed the stage screaming. Stupid! It was just a movie screen. Silly
teenage girls yet a great memory. Saturday
afternoon matinee...35 cents. Also, saw, but didn't hear, A Hard Day's Night at Aww!Memories $1
cartoon and 2 movies!! We bought donuts on the corner to eat during the
movies... Sat
thru two showings in a row of Hard Days Night at that theater and couldn't talk
for three days from screaming so much! It's
now a church --go figure !!!
Best
donut shop still on the corner.
It
wasn't a donut shop when I went to the movies there. It used to be Ray's
Luncheonette. Burgers, egg creams, great tunes on the juke box, pinball and a
pool table. Great hang out! Remember
the Pawn Shop next to the Theater? Remember
the army navy store next to the Angelo
the tailor? Yup.
Went
there as a kid. Every week in the summer had a Disney movie. Saw
Night of the living dead and Jaws Spent
many Saturday's there!! Yup,
that's the place! Worked there in the winter of '69-70. Many
memorable times there! I
saw "A Hard Day's Night" four times in a row here (same day)! I
remember a hard days night... |
